A Journey to ENTREPRENEURSHIP
The quest for entrepreneurship development has never been in high demand like today. Conferences, workshops, seminars and talk shows are organized on daily basis around the globe to get people thinking; entrepreneurship, as a tool for a sustainable life and to promote financial independence, stimulate economic growth, eliminate poverty and significantly reduce the rate of unemployment in our communities. Entrepreneurship development is the focal point and the key ingredient for stimulating growth and employment opportunities in all societies.
Entrepreneurship is an ability to turn ideas into action. Many have good ideas running through their minds daily, but only few can dare to put those ideas into action. Entrepreneurship is a mindset and an attitude, combined with skills and tools to turn ideas into action.
Becoming an entrepreneur, starts with the change of your mindsets, which helps you develop the right attitude that would enable you be optimistic, confident, persistent, committed, curious, creative, innovative and proactive in your idea, and whatever field of entrepreneurship you choose to invest in.
Entrepreneurial mindset development starts with an X-ray of a person’s personality which has a greater role to play for you to become an entrepreneur. This X-ray helps you know what is required of you, what you have at your disposal, and what you need to fill the gaps that exist.
What I mean is, you need to: Study your industry, know the skills, the financial requirement of your business idea, technical know how, human capital, and more required for you to start or launch your idea. These is normally done when you properly do your research (business feasibility) to enable you know the viability of your business idea.
When this is done, you will need to identify the gaps that exist, which is (what is require less what you have). This information will enable you strategize and set modalities that would enable you reach your target. Many businesses fail at times because they don’t take time to examine their industry before penetration.
Entrepreneurship is seen as a vital tool in promoting innovation, competitiveness, and economic growth in our communities, but however, it requires the right skills to function appropriately. The good thing here is that, entrepreneurial skills provide lots of benefits, regardless of whether you intend to become an entrepreneur or not. The skills are highly sorted and can be used across your entire working life, especially as they compass Creativity, initiative, tenacity, teamwork, understanding of risk, and a sense of responsibility.
Entrepreneurial skills are not related to a specific occupation, discipline, or qualification. Read my next episode on entrepreneurial skills.
Entrepreneurship is an ability to turn ideas into action. Many have good ideas running through their minds, but only few can dare to put those ideas into action, the reason why most prefer to call it the daring field. Entrepreneurship is a mindset and an attitude, combined with skills and tools to turn ideas into action. It is considered a focal point and the key ingredient for stimulating growth and employment opportunities in all societies.
Becoming an entrepreneur, starts with the transformation of your mindsets, which helps you develop the right attitude that would enable you be optimistic, confident, persistent, committed, curious, creative, innovative and proactive in your entrepreneurial journey.
Entrepreneurial mindset development is one of the key ingredients in conceiving and developing a viable business idea. Chapter two of my essential books titled “The PASSWORD to Entrepreneurship” is an essential piece in helping you develop a wining entrepreneurial mindset. Though this is still awaiting publication, it is important to note that some renowned professionals Prof. Epah George, Roland Kwemain and others have already visa the content to be highly essential to every young and aspiring entrepreneur.
Entrepreneurship is seen as a vital tool in promoting innovation, competitiveness, and economic growth, but however, it requires the right skills to function appropriately, the reason why I wrote this book to help you reach your entrepreneurial goal. But there is one thing I must make clear here, not everyone is cut out to become an entrepreneur ok? Becoming an entrepreneur requires a lot that many can’t afford. For you to be an entrepreneur, you must have the “right stuff.” You must be willing to lose everything you invest in your business idea, which is already a limitation because many can’t afford to bare such a risk.
It is said that, the reason why we only have fewer rich persons and entrepreneurs in the world is because only 1% of the world’s population can dare to start something, whereas 99% can only work in what others have dare to start. Entrepreneurship requires a lot of smart thinking, and a lot of discipline. You must be confident and willing to go beyond your comfort zone, and sometimes even feel comfortable working alone.
If you are that type who always wants to seek people’s opinion for whatever step you take or idea you execute, then you can’t be an entrepreneur. Entrepreneurs are ready and feel very comfortable working alone because at the beginning, many might not see through the thick fence. Even if you attend the best business schools, you won’t still be able to become an entrepreneur if you don’t have what it takes to keep the candle burning even when others see no fire in it.
The question is, if everyone cannot become an entrepreneur, who then is an entrepreneur? Entrepreneurs are those who identify problems, and provide solution to them and in return make money out of the solution they provide. An entrepreneur is a solution provider who always sees opportunity through a problem. He sees through every problem, identifying and providing a solution to the problem. Entrepreneurs know that a problem is normally an opportunity to get paid if they can provide a solution to the problem. Successful entrepreneurs make their name identifying problems, and providing solutions to those problems. Every good product solves some sort of problem.
Just like I said in our last episode, the journey to entrepreneurship starts with a change of the mindset. That to me is the first step you have to take. You have to stop thinking as an employee and start thinking as an employer. This mindset will enable you conceive a good business idea.
To conclude, I wish to emphasis that every successful business venture starts with a good business idea, and that idea only comes when you develop a good mindset worth generating those ideas.

NEVER LET GO THE SOURCE OF YOUR GREATNESS
I have come to realize that the little things we do daily matters a lot to our lives, as well as our initiatives. As irrelevant as they may seem to us, they most often help us connect the dots to the bigger picture; owing to the fact that “it’s the little drops of rain that forms an ocean,” as it is often said.
With this picture in mind, it is therefore empirical for us to learn to take special note of the little things we do daily, if we want to create a pull of success around us and our initiatives. The magnificent initiatives we admire around the world today were never a done on a single day; they all took energy and time, working daily, and some at night to reach that ultimate result.
Many young people have lots of potential to enable them reach their dreams, creating amazing initiatives; but often they think everything must happen overnight, which is impossible. They want to live their dreams but yet they don’t want to accept that it will take them the little things they do daily to get to their desire destinations. Young people need to embrace the habit of building their capacities daily towards their desire goals, which I personally think is the best way of helping them become true partners of sustainable peace and development in our society.
You can’t continue doing the wrong things, but yet expecting a different result. It’s important for you to flashback at the little things you did in the past and it brought you success; because they are the same little things you must continue to do daily in order to guarantee yourself more success stories.
You should equally note that no matter how rich or influential you become when you reach your desired goals, never stop doing the little things which brought you to that position. If you consider that because you have made a name, you can no longer get involve in those little issues that helped facilitated your riches, you just might be inviting serious setbacks for your course.
Some people start businesses and give excellent customer service, which help to attract more customers, helping them make more money, and at some point they allow the business success to get into their heads. They stop doing the very little things that helped attracted customers for their businesses in the first place, creating a pathway for serious setbacks.
The easiest way to attract serious setbacks and business failure is to stop doing what made you successful. Rather than stopping it, you can rather modify and improve on it. Never throw away a winning system unless you discover something better than the former.
Think deep before you act. Don’t forget the source of your greatness. Don’t forget that what you are today is as a result of those little things you used to do. Take note of the little things that matters and never stop doing them until you find a more appropriate way out.
